Like BellaBoo I have a Clover seam ripper and find they really do do the job. But never thought of putting a rubber band round the middle to stop it rolling - brilliant idea, thank you. I have a little pot by my sewing machine where I keep it together with some other invaluable (to me) things Like a old bead tube into which I throw my old needles, and a spare pair of scissors.
