As someone who quilted for others (on a Bernina), I always appreciated knowing when a customer needed it by a certain date that I could then mark in my calendar. There are always other customers and charity quilts that come popping up unexpectedly with what I called "emergency" quilts!! Just give her a call asking her when should you expect your quilt to be done. If she has the reputation that I think she has, she will try her best to get yours done ASAP. Maybe see if you can come by to take a picture of the quilt and put that in an envelope for your Mother. I am sure she will be surprised! I know how disappointed you must feel but your Mother will always treasure the quilt.
