My way of "justifying" fabric purchase is to make sure DH knows I have a project in the works that needs that bit of fabric to add to it. I buy it, bring it home, and if doesn't work, yeah stash builder. Right now though, I am working on using up that stash and the scraps. I just bought a bolt of Black cotton and a bolt of Muslin 90". This way, I have backing fabric all the time and I am going to use the black to put all my scraps with so I can get them gone. Bad thing is I had the delivery go to home instead of the office, now he is going to know for sure. Shame on me.
I am about done with my chaos quilt top. I did a wonky, but thought not enough so I dug out some of the scraps and just went to town and laid them on the muslin foundation in any way I could get them done, then found some applique pieces lying around that needed a home so they are on there also. Playing with the fancy stitches. I do not like to do much handwork so may not do embelishments, besides with the chaos, you would not see them real well. Using up bobbins with small amounts of thread on them and the last bit on a spool of embroidery thread so I can clear up some space. Seems like the perfect project to do this with. Hopefully this weekend I will be able to quilt it together and work on binding next week at office. Whew, I talk to much when I am alone in the office.
