I always encouraged my son to eat different things, but he was never forced to eat something he didn't like. It was the same for me when I was growing up. Of course, if we didn't eat what was on the table, there wasn't going to be anything else fixed for us.
But oh my, I do love escargot. Never thought I would eat it, but was out with friends, had a couple of drinks, got brave, and so glad I did. Love chicken livers, fried, but not the gizzards. I have figured I would try something twice, because if I didn't like it the first time, it may have not been prepared very well, but if I don't like it on the second go round, that's it.
