[QUOTE=quilterCDN;6074958]I know a woman who saves her thread. When she has a jar full, she places the threads inbetween to thin layers of water solviable plastic and then sews randome stitches, with various colors of thread until the pieces are sewen together. Then she rinses off the solivable stuff and ends up with a new type of lace background. Then she uses her embroidery feature and makes an embellishment with this thread/fabric as her base.
This is what I do with the pretty embroidery threads (especially like to add some metallic threads) when doing machine emb. I cut out the shape of a heart in a blouse or T-shirt, and sewed the lacy sandwich, after rinsing the water soluble stabilizer out, placing it behind the heart cut out, to peek through the heart opening. Was so pretty.
