Ok got the picture. So each block is 12.5", you need a 6.5" sqauare, 3 strips 2.5" x 6.5", 3 strips 2.5" x 8.5" and 2 HSTs. I had trouble with the HSTs - I cut a 6.5" square then cut on the diagonal.

As you can see from the picture I came up a bit short. I am guessing that the square for the HST needs to be either 6 5/8" which should work exactly but be a pain to cut, or 6 3/4" then trimmed (I hate trmming). Any advice on that?

Anyway, make 36 of the blocks and off you go.

These are really well suited for fat quarters and jelly rolls. I am actually cutting strips WoF by 6.5" and 8.5" and cutting my strips into 2.5" segments. This should yield enough for 72 blocks or 2 quilt tops. I am using about 40 fabrics for all the strips so it will be very colorful.
