That will never happen. The scraps continue to multiply, they never go down and one day you'll throw you hands up in disgust and find a quilting friend on your local freecycle. Oh...well..ok, that's what I did anyway. I made over 1000 (yes, one thousand) 8" crumb blocks, then another several hundred 6" and 12" string blocks. My problem was that I have quilting friends who would help me in my scrap addiction. I finally had to say "stop, no more I don't want your scraps"

Enjoy the creativity, each block is wonderfully unique and it's fun to watch the block develop. You'll have a wonderful collection to draw from when you get back into planned quilts. I made huge rolls of scrappy piano keys with my 3" and 4" pieces. I can pull them out and border a quilt that's not quite big enough and it looks great. So have fun.
