I like black in bright quilts, because it makes the colors pop out at you, and you would never guess that you ran out of the fabric you wanted to use. I think your first quilt should go to the top of the pile, and get to enjoy it soon. If you still don't love it, you can give it to a friend's child, or to a children's hospital, or to a place where a disaster happened. Then you might love the idea of the love you will be sending off with your quilt. I tell everyone when I send off a quilt, that it is like getting a hug from the person who sent it to you when you wrap up in the quilt, and any one that come thru a disaster needs all the hugs they can get.
