From the picture it looks like the marks on the clutch knob are from the gear puller. Or am I seeing it wrong? My gear puller needs to be 'hooked' over the flared end of the flange then the screw is placed against the bare end of the main that is showing through the flange. Clear as mud?

Lol Cathy, you are always clear as mud. No, The gear puller was on the flange of that broke. The stop motion knob was not on there when I had the gear puller on it. If i did, there would be nothing for the screw part of the gear puller to push against. It was off of there at the time.
