I've been watching the posts thinking someone would give the peanut blossoms recipe. You know the one, Hershey's kisses pressed in the middle. My grandkids love them and I have to make tons at Christmas even though they aren't really a Christmas cookie. They are certainly peanut buttery.... I use chunky peanut butter but you can use the creamy style as well. I set the tray of hot cookies outside in the garage to let the kisses harden back up..... that probably won't work in the summer months. You'll have to put them in the freezer. The garage is a freezer in December for me.

PEANUT BLOSSOMS
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 3/4 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
2 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp vanilla
granulated sugar for rolling
about 48 Hershey's candy kisses, unwrapped

Oven 375 degrees

In a large mixing bowl, combine sugars, shortening and peanut butter. Blend well. Add dry ingredients, mix well, then liquids. Mix well, again. Shape into 1" balls (I use a cookie scoop) and roll in additional sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheets and place about 1" apart because they spread. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove from oven and immediately top each cookie with a candy kiss. Press down firmly until cookie cracks on the edges. Allow to cool.
