Brass brushes are a lot easier that the steel on metal surfaces. The brass is softer and will wear quicker than the steel. But, still take it easy when brushing. I have yet to damage anything that I have used the brass brush on.

Thank you Mizkaki, I just did not want to damage anything. I have lots of time now I have retired. Plus I like no harsh chemicals. Would the brass brush damage the chrome or what ever the throat plates are made of?
