Sometimes it pays to look beyond the ad picture.
I saw an ad for this "Old Singer handcrank" in the Sacramento area of Craigslist.
The ad showed this...

Cathy was kind enough to pick it up for me and drop it off on her way down here.
It seems that the delivery was the hard part.... She know I had only seen the photo above and was tempted to pull a switchero and deliver something else hehe)
What I received was this..

This has got the be the most unusual shuttle I have ever seen. Notice the curved top where it slides on the race. And it looks almost new.

This date is pointing towards a very late 1800's date. It might even be in my Timeframe! woo hoo!

Talk about a short throw and tight arc for the shuttle to move in
This machine is usually called a transverse machine, but I think this machine is "sorta" like a Transverse but more like a rotated Vibrating Shuttle
