I wouldn't worry about it unless you plan to sell the pattern. I like the design but can't figure out how you'd put it together without having to do L seams. Almost like a log cabin, but none of the pieces line up to put it together. Yeah, I've had similar things happen. Ideas can occur simultaneously to many people.
