My dad just turned 96 in April and was a WWII fighter pilot. Amazing that he is still able to live on his own, has a great social life with bridge, golf and eating out with friends (all 10-15 years younger than him) many times driving his friends that don't drive anymore and with family very nearby for support if needed. He doesn't talk much about the war except that he was lucky he never had to eject and always got his plane back to base even if it had been shot at and was barely limping back.
