I didn't use batting. I just use a bed sheet on the back of the first two quilts. I gave one to my parents and one to my sister. They live in Killeen, Texas. Where it really doesn't get cold at all. On the third quilt I plan on using flannel with not batting on the back. I am moving to colorado springs in the fall. I figure I will need the warmth.
