Default I have succumbed to the charms

of the Featherweight! I know I paid too much, but I don't see them around here and just wanted one. Her name is Audrey, after my mother who first tried to teach me to sew. I am not mechanically inclined, so I had her checked out by someone who comes into my Bernina dealer to service other brands of machines. He said she was in good shape and is a good investment, whatever that means. Audrey was born in 1938 and came with a few attachments. I bought it on eBay, and the seller didn't know much about packing sewing machines. She arrived with a gouge on the flip up extension, which disappointed me. After I showed the seller what had happened, he refunded my shipping cost. Otherwise, she is adorable. I'm ashamed to say I have not tried to sew with her yet. I'm a little intimidated. But I do like looking at her!
