I havent used mirrors. The class that I took we find the beginning of each repeat in the fabric. Then I cut the fabric based on where the repeats are. Then when I have twelve repeats of the fabric depending on how many blades Im using in my DP I then layer the fabrics. Using long qulting pins to go through coordinating dots or any other spot that can be easily identified to line up the fabrics. Usually end up with eight to nine pins. Then put pieces of cork on the end of the pins to keep fabric on pins . Then I do a basting zig zag stitch about three inches or so in a zig zag up and across the stack of fabric. This holds all the fabric lined up for cutting. Remove the pins and then cut as many of the template stacks as I can from the stack of fabric. I usually get from eight to nine DP's from one stack of repeats. I wish I could remember what the name of the class was. I took it at my LQS.
