I did buy the foundation for a Lone Star too! And like you said, it adds a little weight, but so worth it to be totally FLAT when you are done! Taking the time to trim the fabrics down to 1/4" seam allowance after stitching helps alleviate some of the bulk/weight that would otherwise build up also. The completed examples that Carmen had in class did not seem any "heavier" than normal for finished quilts.
