I got it on ebay. starting price was $15 and nobody else bid, mainly because it was in Geelong. I had to go there anyway for a load of pattern mags, so made a day of it (it's only an hour and a bit away).
$150 is pretty exy for a non-Singer that needs that much work. If it looks old, add a zero. How do they think they can charge this and call themselves "opportunity shops". Then again, someone must have actually paid it!
Yes American friends, this is what thrift shops in Melbourne charge. ruby2shoes, you're better off at estate garage sales. Sellers still ask too much but when machines are still there at the end of the day, they're always willing to make a deal (what will they do with it?), which is how I got my 319K and its cabinet.
