My DH can sew but to me, using the machine for mending or sewing is really about the same. Just depends on the project as to what goes under the needle. My DH does so much for me, I don't mind doing a little in return. Once I helped him put a transmission into a "64" Chevy Nova. I said never again. He prefers to buy clothes he knows will fit.
