The advice to audition is a sound one. Recently, I had some blocks and took to a quilt shop. It took four workers and me and my friend about 30 minutes to find the right one. We kept piling up prospects and then suddenly, "that is it" and we all knew we had found "it". Don't despair the color thing. You will know it when you see it, you just need the right exposure to find it. I have been looking for a while for another color and one day..... Good luck with your searching!
