I saw a beautiful patchworked quilt that was crib or lap sized that had an appliqued heart at the top left and xoxo applique in the middle...there were other appliques and also pieced blocks (rail fence, log cabin...some others) at a show a while ago. Why not design one yourself?
You already know a bit about what was on the quilt.
You could do blocks the you like, then put it together.
It would be a ONE OF A KIND and I think your best friend would actually love that!
