I figured that knob locks the zig zag width, but no it is frozen solid! I can't budge it either way! I also can't budge the feed dog drop button. It is fozen in the 'sew' position. I doubt anyone ever dropped those feed dogs!

One of those knobs may not ever move. Your machine is not the twin to mine. Mine has only one cam - zz. Those feed dogs seem to suck in oil then when it drys up the dog's knob does not move. It isn't the knob that is stuck it is the thing that locks the feed dogs in or out that sticks - that is what needs the T-F and or heat. I've never seen a stuck knob.
