I have both QP and EQ and I go to QP 99% of the time, I think QP is much more user friendly, and much easier to use on startup. I started with Version 4 and now am using 6. I own a quilt shop and use it to figure quilts for my customers and have not had a problem with measurements or yardage requirements. They also have an onboard tutorial. If you decide to go with QP I can help with questions if you need.
