There are different levels or vesions of the 5D so the cost depends on what you get. I got mine when a Viking demonstrator came to the dealers store to show us it and we got a great deal on it. Hoping that happens for 6D. I have the pro plus, it does digitizing, editing and changeing designs, cross stitch, portraits, plus lots more.
