A lady made all of her grandchildren a quilt for Christmas. She pieced the backs, and put a bit of everyone's quilts into all of the other backs.
I'm doing this for the quilt tops I'm making for my nieces. I let them choose the colors they wanted, then set out to collect fabrics. I like scrappy quilts, so I want to have at least 40 prints per quilt. Each quilt will be "cross-pollinated" with fabrics from the other quilts. Since they are scattered around the country, I thought it might be a comfort to them.
