This formula for the
sew around the edge method was posted by a member here Ceil:
"I think the formula for each block should be this:
Whatever your block side is subtract .5 then multiply by 1.4 then subtract .5.
So if you start with 6 in squares - .5 = 5.5 X 1.4 = 7.7 - .5 = 7.2. Trim to 7 in."
I remember that the chart I posted didn't work at all but the above formula was good.
