Hi again all,
Heres a couple of close up pics of the pan to my "new" featherweight that I am trying to get the "yuk" off of it to put a new oil pan pad in. Posting pics to give a better idea of what my prior post is about...I removed the original wool pad, which at the time appeared appeared "stuck" in areas to the pan. In the pics you can see where fibers from the old pad are still "stuck" in with the adhesive I am trying to remove. After much research I tried (not all at once

) kerosene, WD 40, Goo Gone as well as plain water with just a tad of dish soap (thoroughly rinsed and dried it after) to get this glue/adhesive off...Nothing is working...it still has that "rancid oil smell". I know I am putting a new oil pad on, but wanted to maintain the integrity of the surface if possible, the lil scratches around where the screw hole is were there when I took the pan off ....Thanks in advance all!
Regards,
K
PS I have Lupus, and "smells" can really get to me, this one sure is...but boy is she a beautiful machine who is worthy of a nice spruce up!
