I love the picture of the needle holder from "sewdamncute"....I have something on the same order, but it doesn't hold the needle cases so this is even more useful.
What I have is a square of muslin fabric 6" quilted, and bound. The muslin square is marked in half each way across, up and down, and diagonally, which gives 8 divisions. With pigma pen, I wrote the type/size of needle and keep needles in the matching area. When using a needle, I put a .pin in the corresponding spot. It works, as long as you remember to use the pin! I actually made 2 of these, one for the more regular needles, and another one for the specialty needles that I use (like embroidery, quilting, denim, etc)
