Another loss in the quilting world -SCalifornia quilter Mary Ellen Hopkins has died. She was so much a part of the Orange County Quilters Guild in the beginning (March 1981) and active in teaching until five or six years ago. i mourn her loss. i learned to quilt from her first book. several of those quilts are still being treasured. always so hard when we lose a beloved, admired & respected member of the quilting community, like mary ellen hopkins.
