Default My first attempt to creating a Colorwash Quilt

My first attempt...I've got lots to learn about color placement, but I am happy with this small quilt. It is 21" x 29" and has 266 pieces and only 4-5 pieces are duplicated, if that. I've been studying Wanda S. Hanson's colorwash quilts. They are beautiful!

The pieces are laid out on a 2" grid drawn on lightweight fusible interfacing (which I drew myself). After pressing all the pieces down, I sewed all the seams in one direction, clipped the interfacing and pressed the seams open, then sewed the other direction and pressed those seams open, too.

Thanks for looking! Has anybody else tried this technique? Post a pic!
