I would like to make something like this using scraps what size strips do I cut to make the block if I cut 5 1 1/2 strips I think I will get a 7 1/2 in block then do I cut a 7 7/8 in square cut the diagonal for the end and side pieces.....then sew the rows on point that I can follow looking at the picture it's the math ALWAYS the math and in all honesty I don't want to buy the the pattern it looks easy enough.heres the link
