The only HST I see in this pattern are the setting triangles. Make your strip blocks whatever size you want and here is a chart from Bonnie Hunter @ Quiltville that tells you what size to cut your setting triangles.

As a hint, I always oversize the setting triangles.
Sew it all together.
Then trim the side so it's nice and straight.
Be sure to allow for the seam allowance so you do not lose the corners of those strip set blocks.
