I have an old tube of Singer motor lubricant from the 60s and it has an amber color - I have decided not to use it as it has that "old machine smell" and the tip had to be cleared with a pin before it would squeeze out, so it had become thick and sticky enough to clog the tip. I don't want it to do that to my machine! So I will opt for the petroleum jelly.
