I love the British mysteries. I watch Inspector Lewis, George Gently, Vera, New Tricks, and my two favorites Death in Paradise (set in the Caribbean) and Foyles's War (WWII). I loved the Inspector Lynley series based on books by Elizabeth George (my favorite author) although the characters changed a bit from the books.
And Murder She Wrote was actually filmed in Mendocino, CA. Jessica's house is a bed and breakfast now. I've visited Mendocino and it is a lovely place.
