Talk about making memories!!! My sisters have done the same thing with their granddaughters, and it has been a wonderful time of bonding. I have 2 grandsons, presently 21 months, and 3 weeks, so am not holding my breath about them being interested in sewing. But you never know!!!!!
You can try when they get old enough, we have some wonderful male quilters/machine lovers here on the board. After all, it is made with a "machine" and that might interest a boy more than you think with a little "help" from grandmother.
