In my quilt I am using a random YLI machine quilting thread but boy did I have problems with it fraying.....until one of our leaders in the group advised me to use an embroidery needle in the machine, this having a large hole and being finer doesn't create as much friction on the thread as it passes through the needle and it has been much better. :-) :-)
