Jenny Beyer hand pieces all of her fabulous quilts- visit her website to browse her gallery- then visit her tutorials, hints & tips area. I love hand piecing and have found with her patterns it is often easier to hand piece than machine piece. not sure what you want 'explained'....hand piecing vs. English paper piecing I guess- instead of having paper templates you baste around then whip stitch with Jenny's (and any *traditional* hand piecing) you have to do some prep work- cut out your pieces- draw you seam lines, or match dots; pin, stitch. the accuracy achieved from hand piecing is beyond compare- and hand piecing makes blocks possible that would be very difficult to achieve with a machine.
