The original quilt was loved to death and is in poor condition.
My grandmother used to make the same quilt with the butterflies. This one and what she calld "Little Dutch Girl" and "Little Dutch Boy" were the ones she always made. The wings were fabric, appliqued on with blanket stitch, the antennae were straight running stitch, body was satin stitch. Quite a coincidence, I just bought a set of 10 of these blocks at a garage sale last week for $7. They reminded me of my grandmother, so I had to get them!

I'd be glad to scan a picture of one and send it to you if you'd like. You can PM me, if so, with your email address.
