Instead of a Murphy bed I would get a sleeper sofa - that way you don't have to move furniture every day to go to bed. The bedroom could be used for your closet and sewing room. One wall could be shelving to store your fabric, with a sliding door that could be used as a design wall. Hope your health issues become non-issues soon.
