I agree that you need to buy a better brand of monofilament thread. I don't like the fact that you can't see the quilting stitches. actually, I don't use it anymore. I've been using 100% cotton for my maching quilting. For hand applique, I also use cotton or polyester in a matching color. I don't do machine applique much. :)
