I have the tessellating windmill ruler, and it comes with instructions. Does your not have them?
It's really not that hard, once you get the hang of it. A tip that I learned is to take all your peices to the machine on your 12 inch ruler, so that it's all there and won't get mixed up. I don't remember much else about the class I took for this ruler, sorry not much help.
