What I do is also, a binder. But each quilt pattern, I make, I write down the templates/sq's, etc, and how many it take for the quilt top. If it takes templates, I, make the template, also. Also, I write down the name of the book, the pattern, and the page it's on, in the book. After writing, and making templates, etc, I put every thing, in a gallon zip lock bag. And then into my binder.
