Jackie why do you want to dismantle that VS2 fiddlebase Singer? The cabinet looks like it could easily be lightly sanded and refinished? The decals called the Rose and Cornflower are still really nice for a pre 1900 machine! I'd get that baby, clean it up a little and use it!

Actually my friend is planning on getting it but she is travelling in a car (Honda Accord). She has to bring it from Nova Scotia to Newfoundland and was worried about it fitting in the car.
