Sewing machine oil is made to evaporate. If it didn't the machine parts would clog up. That's why it's necessary to oil a lot. Machine oil is clear, if it has any yellowing tint it is not good anymore. Tri-Flow has teflon and that isn't going to do anything but coat the machine parts in layers as it is added. Machine oil is inexpensive so why use anything else?
