Joe, in my first post I was just being silly, but in the second one, I was trying to describe what Candace just described; only she did a better job of describing it. Does it make sense now?
If you've just sewn something and then you go to turn it right side out; if the thing you sewed was big, as in a pillowcase, you just use your hands and fingers to poke the corners out to their shape. However, if the thing you sewed is small, such as a teddy bear or doll's clothing, then you need something smaller to get into the small corners and such, to shape the garment or item.
So, I am pretty sure that is what the tool is used for, but I do not know if it has a proper name.
Miriam seems quite good at making up names for things, though. Miriam?
