Great Sewing Table-Inexpensive/Just Need Some Room
When I posted some pictures of a quilt I was asked "what was it laying on?" I decided to post pictures of my sewing table that my hubby made for me. It consists of two doors that are hinged together. If I needed more floor space for something I can fold one door down. Seldom do I do this as I seem to use the full table space more often. The finished top is 56" x 72". He then made a cutout which accomodates both my Viking and my Brother sewing machines and puts the throat plate flush with the table. I took picture of the leg work he built for the machine side which is really sturdy to bear the weight. The other half just has spindle legs that screw on and off. The bare wood edge was added so that when I am sandwiching a quilt I have a lip to clip the backing to in order to keep it tight. If you have the floor space it is really a terrific and inexpensive table. Maybe some other husbands will look and have more ideas to add to this. Hope it helps someone.
