I've made a couple photo quilts. I use the fabric sheets made for use with an inkjet printer. Just follow the directions. The fabric sheets are not cheap. There is a product that you can use to make your own fabric sheets - but I haven't done that yet (Nancy's Notions has a product). I would definitely not make a photo quilt for one that you expect to have to launder a lot. They do fade with washings. As far as charging - I've only done for family, so I can't help you there.
