Well, OK since you're in Sweden I don't feel so bad. Sniffle, sniffle ........

I have one of the Chinese made hand crank units. It's a decent reproduction. It stared off a bit rough feeling, but I took the back off and greased the two gears. Then oiled the two shafts through their oil holes. I've mounted it on my 99K, Rusty and used it quite a bit. It has smoothed out a lot and works quite well.

It's no where near the quality a real Singer unit would be, but then they don't cost what a real Singer unit would either.

I'll be keeping my eyes out for one of those Singer 421Gs. My wife and I have a real fondness for the 401A and 500A machines and a 421G would fit right in with three we've already got. Since it has a free arm, we'd be able to sell one or more of the others too. That would be a win-win situation.
