Hearts and Flowers Quilt
Good morning everyone.......have you all been as busy as me this summer? WHEW! We've had company almost steadily this summer......no time for what I REALLY want to do (quilt!!)
This quilt I wanted to share with you belongs to my friend of 50 yrs, Judy. Judy's aunt made this about 20 years ago. It didn't have borders and had been tied. Judy saw one of the quilts I'd done that had the heart with feathers and decided she wanted that done to this quilt. Judy took the quilt apart, came to our quilt retreat and added borders to it. Understand......Judy has never made anything but a baby quilt. She learned a lot and did an excellent job! Judy will be giving this quilt to her daughter for a wedding present. This quilt is king size......I don't have the measurements. I CAN say, it's made me fall in love with 2 color quilts! I HAVE to make one now!
NOTE: There is bleeding from the red!!!!! She washed it many years ago before "color catchers", and has washed it with color catchers 4 times since but it still has bleeding. I made the mistake of spritzing with water and had some bleeding onto the backing!!!!!!!!!!!! We're praying it'll come out, but Judy said not to worry.......if you really could see the front up close, you'd know there's LOTS of bleeding!
